The Worx Productions Ltd was established by business partners Steve Blackmore and Graham Stephens as a theatre production investment company. Current investments include Pretty Woman at the Savoy Theatre, Come From Away at The Phoenix Theatre, Moulin Rouge at the Piccadilly Theatre, Back to the Future at the Adelphi Theatre, the Jamie Lloyd Season of plays at the Playhouse including Cyrano with James McAvoy, The Seagull with Emilia Clarke and The Dolls House with Jessica Chastane, the UK Tour of On Your Feet, the Gloria Estefan Musical, 9to5 UK Tour and Treason a new Musical concept. They are also part of ABP Productions and have an interest in Leopoldstadt and Uncle Vanya and other plays soon to hit the West End .

Past investments include Broadway productions Side Show, Angels in America and The Great Comet, off Broadway Unexpected Joy, Southwark Playhouse productions The Life, Dessert and Unexpected Joy, The Grinning Man at the Trafalgar Studios London and Pinter at the Pinter at The Harold Pinter Theatre, Betrayal with Tom Hiddlestone, Cyrano with James McAvoy, Sweat and the west end production of On Your Feet. The also invested in Elegies a charitable show streamed online in 2020 on Broadway.

The Company is also producing new and rarely seen plays and musicals locally in Bristol run by Steve Blackmore and Emma Griffiths. The first production "God of Carnage" was produced at The Alma Tavern Theatre in May 2017 with great reviews followed by The Big Meal by Dan LeFranc in November 2017 and Jumpy in March 2018 which was nominated for Best Play in the Rose Bowl Awards. They also produced The History Boys in October 2018 with Merriman Productions and have just produced the Jason Robert Brown musical The Last 5 Years at The Station in Bristol in November 2018 and the UK non-professional premiere of The Life at the Olympus Theatre Bristol in February 2019.

STEVE BLACKMORE

Steve has been involved in local theatre in Bristol, UK for over 37 years as an Actor, Choreographer and Director. He has been nominated three times for a Rose Bowl Award for Best Actor and Supporting Actor for Cosmo is Singin in the Rain, Miles in Forum and Alfieri in The View from the Bridge. After hanging up his dancing shoes having choreographed over 15 productions he turned to Directing. His productions as Director has garnered 10 Rose Bowl Awards Best Musical nominations for Baby, Sweeney Todd, High Fidelity, I Love You Because, I Love You, You're Prefect Now Change, The Producers, Legally Blonde and Jekyll & Hyde and 3 Best Set nominations and 3 Noda Regional award for excellence for High Fidelity, Gypsy and Sweet Charity. He was proud to produce the UK Premieres of Side Show and High Fidelity and The Life. Steve also Directed Legally Blonde for BODS as The Theatre Royal Bath in March 2020.
